Municipal Advisors provide advisory services to municipalities and government entities, as defined by MSRB Rule G-42. Their work includes guiding the issuance of municipal securities, restructuring and managing public debt, overseeing bond proceeds, and planning capital raising projects.
Following the Dodd-Frank Act, Municipal Advisors must register with the SEC, like RIAs, though their exposures differ. While both are held to a fiduciary standard, Municipal Advisors frequently advise on debt-related matters that are often excluded or not affirmatively covered under standard investment advisor E&O policies.
Golsan Scruggs understands these nuances and has deep experience structuring insurance solutions that close coverage gaps, ensuring Municipal Advisors are protected for the services they provide.
Golsan Scruggs will be participating in the following event(s):
National Association of Municipal Advisors (NAMA) 2025 Conference
